As my first 2 classes of this semester and my Master's degree comes to a close, it is amazing to think about how much I have accomplished and learned. Plenty of research on a growth mindset and how to apply it. We learned about COVA and ownership, and really how to apply these new things to not only our lives, but for students also. This class was created to not only teach us these new things, but to provide a visual to use in our own work. This journey has been more than checking weeks off in our modules, but looking forward to what is next.
One key takeaway for me on the growth mindset is to not see all of the challenges in my like as obstacles hindrances, but to view them as opportunities for improvement. From figuring out how to make my ePortfolio to just balancing school, work and family life, I believe adopting the growth mindset can make a difference. Every part of this is a stepping stone.
Another important part of this class was working on COVA. Having Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity, I was able to take control of my ePortfolio and express myself. My ePortfolio is a reflection of who I am as a student and future educator. I am genuinely proud of the work I have put into this.
There were so many challenges these last 8 weeks. Just finding the time and brain power was an effort. All of these projects and assignments were so big in the beginning, however I however I formed a group with 4 other students with their support, everything became manageable. The ideas, feedback and overall group really was a positive impacts on my work.
As I complete the last parts for this class, I feel more confident and prepared than I did when I began. We were really lucky to have such an amazing teacher who was there for any questions or concerns. Dr. J really motivated me to learn more about AI, apply the growth mindset, and just in general be a future communicative teacher. I found so much value in this. I am looking forward to the next classes.
