This last week I submitted Parts A & B of my influencer strategy for the Mightier app rollout at Ward Elementary. I have focused on leveraging the six sources of influence to address both individual and collective needs among teachers. To inspire personal motivation, I’m sharing relatable success stories to demonstrate the app’s impact on emotional regulation. Also I expanded on how hands-on training builds personal ability and confidence with the app. To foster social motivation and social ability, I believe encouraging teachers to share experiences and successes in a group chat because this can help others receive guidance and support. Structurally, small rewards like classroom recognition help sustain motivation, while streamlined resources and troubleshooting guides enhance structural ability by making integration as seamless as possible. Each step has its challenges, from scheduling training to addressing technology gaps, but these strategies can help create a supportive environment to help teachers embrace and integrate the Mightier app. It was fun because I was able to display my Influencer strategy all on my ePportfolio.
I also I recently updated my ePortfolio with a Growth Mindset Plan inspired by Carol Dweck’s mindset theory and Scott Jeffrey’s approach. I was aiming to cultivate a growth-oriented environment for both students and educators. This plan emphasizes developing resilience, embracing challenges, and learning from mistakes, principles that guide my interactions and strategies. Dweck’s focus on the power of “yet” has been a cornerstone, helping me encourage colleagues, friends and family to see potential beyond current limitations. Jeffrey’s practical techniques for fostering growth mindset add structure to this approach, offering actionable ways to support others in adopting flexible and constructive thinking habits. These combined insights are shaping my work to build a community that values ongoing development, helping everyone involved see setbacks as opportunities for growth.
Recent discussions in the ADL program on the COVA (Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity) approach have profoundly influenced my work with the Mightier app and my ePortfolio enhancements. I was able to discuss with classmates that through COVA, I have realized the value of giving students and teachers the choice to shape their own learning and emotional growth, making the Mightier app experience more personalized. Ownership has inspired me to take be prepareed for full responsibility for the app’s implementation, tailoring it to our school’s unique needs. Having a voice lets me infuse my own insights, aligning the project with my vision, while focusing on authenticity has encouraged me to present my ePortfolio transparently, highlighting real challenges and successes. Overall, COVA has provided a meaningful framework that enriches both the project and my engagement in it.
This past week, I could see I had a growth mindset during a challenging day balancing multiple tasks. Amid a particularly overwhelming moment, I reminded myself to view setbacks as learning opportunities, which helped me refocus and tackle each task with a fresh perspective. Celebrating small wins, like completing a critical part of my influencer strategy, helped me maintain momentum and f
eel encouraged. This experience reinforced how powerful a growth mindset can be and reminded me to stay resilient and adaptable.
