Innovation Plan Compilation
This section shows how my innovation plan comes together. It connects the research, planning, and practical tools that help 2nd grade elementary students manage their emotions using the Mightier app. Every component is purposefully designed to create a powerful solution that equips students with emotional skills that will serve them not only in school today, but throughout their entire lives.
Bringing It All Together
Innovation Plan Outline
This overview provides the foundation of the project, highlighting the problem of emotional dysregulation in early elementary education and the need for student-driven self-regulation tools. It outlines the goals, rationale, and intended impact of implementing the Mightier app within a 2nd-grade classroom setting
Literature Review
This review looks at what experts know about digital tools for emotions, social-emotional learning, and tracking behavior. The research clearly shows that apps like Mightier, which use biofeedback games to help children learn, can improve emotional skills, keep students interested, and create better classroom environments.
Action Research Plan
This section outlines exactly how to bring Mightier into the classroom and measure its success. It outlines the testing strategy, data collection methods, analysis plan, timeline, and key resources. It also includes reflection on what is effective and areas that could be improved. This plan is complete and ready to use in your classroom tomorrow.
From Research to Real-World Change
Each component of this project— from the initial innovation plan and literature review to the action research and supporting tools—plays a vital role in creating a sustainable, student centered approach to emotional learning. Together, they form a cohesive framework that not only addresses the immediate needs of students struggling with emotional regulation, but also empowers educators to embed meaningful SEL practices into everyday instruction.
This structure is intentionally designed to be flexible, allowing teachers to tailor the implementation of tools like the Mightier app based on their classroom dynamics and student needs. It is replicable, with clearly documented processes, resources, and data collection tools that can be reused or adapted by other educators without starting from scratch. Most importantly, it is scalable, making it possible to apply the model across different grade levels, campuses, or even district wide initiatives focused on improving student emotional health and behavior.
By combining research backed strategies, real world application, and reflective practice this work aims to support a broader shift toward emotionally intelligent, inclusive, and tech-empowered learning environments. It invites ongoing collaboration, innovation, and feedback so that educators are not just implementing change—they’re continuously evolving it.
