Objective:

To implement an alternative professional learning model that provides ongoing support for three teachers using Mightier to support six students with autism in self-regulation and emotional management.

Phase 1: Initial Training & Onboarding (Weeks 1-2)

🔹 Goal: Ensure teachers understand Mightier’s functionality and how to integrate it into their classroom routines.

  • Teacher Orientation (Week 1):

    • Overview of Mightier: Purpose, benefits, and research behind emotional regulation.

    • Hands-on training: Teachers use Mightier as students would.

    • Discuss classroom integration strategies.

  • Student Onboarding (Week 2):

    • Introduce Mightier to students in small group settings.

    • Explain how the app helps with self-regulation.

    • Establish routines for when and how students will use Mightier.

Phase 2: Guided Implementation with Coaching Support (Weeks 3-8)

🔹 Goal: Provide structured, real-time support as teachers integrate Mightier into their daily practices.

  • Classroom Integration (Weeks 3-4):

    • Each teacher starts using Mightier with their two students in short, scheduled sessions (10-15 min per session, 3-4 times per week).

    • Teachers log observations on student engagement and emotional responses.

  • Coaching & Collaborative Support (Weeks 5-8):

    • Weekly check-ins with a mentor or coach (in-person or virtual).

    • Peer collaboration: Teachers share strategies, troubleshoot challenges, and adjust implementation.

    • Data review: Use Mightier insights to track student progress and modify approaches as needed.

Phase 3: Reflection & Refinement (Weeks 9-12)

🔹 Goal: Assess impact, refine strategies, and ensure sustainability.

  • Student Progress Review (Week 9):

    • Analyze Mightier data for emotional regulation improvements.

    • Gather student feedback on their experiences.

  • Teacher Reflection & Best Practices Sharing (Week 10-11):

    • Group discussion: What worked? What challenges remain?

    • Adjust schedules, intervention strategies, and classroom integration based on insights.

  • Long-Term Planning & Scaling (Week 12):

    • Develop a plan for continued Mightier use.

    • Explore ways to expand the approach to more teachers and students.

Ongoing Support & Sustainability
